How to drink yerba Maté

Traditional way – gourd/cup, filter straw & thermos. Fill the cup about half full with Yerba Maté, tip slightly to the side so the loose leaf sits on an angle. Pour hot water (about 80°) into the shallow side of the leaf and then insert the straw. The water will infuse the leaf from the bottom so with each successive infusion, the strength of the brew is maintained. For more information visit: Matéguru.co.nz

Plunger – use approximately 4 table spoons per 1/2L plunger. Pour hot water, about 80° over the infusion. Allow to sleep for a few minutes and enjoy. You can repeat this process 2-3 times.

Cold brew (plunger) – same as above only allow to sit for 1-4 hrs depending on your taste preference. Yerba Maté can be sweetened with honey or flavoured with other herbs as desired.

Tea pot – Use 2-3 tablespoons and allow to infuse for 3-5 minutes. Strain&enjoy.
